My name's Ren Tohimaru, call me Ren. I recognize some names here, others not as much. It's a pleasure in any case.
I've been in a few places, mostly FA, active in the Star Wars community for about 2 years now. I started out a Sith, earned an adept rank as a Mandalorian, and am studying as a Jedi now. As a Mandalorian I am heavily influenced by my family, many of which were in the military, and we all have a strong bond; although I was never in the military (medical problems have kept me out), my proximity has given me a lot of experience, albeit somewhat more secondhand than I'd like; I draw deep meaning from this which was heavily influenced by the Shadow teachings at FA. As a Jedi I draw heavily from Eastern philosophy, and utilize teachings from the Baran Do, TotJO and IJRS, but mostly from RJK and all aspects of FA (I've been in each for certain amounts of time, though mostly in the SA).
For me I avoid the realist approach, instead preferring to be real-world. Essentially, Jedi should seek to actively seek serve people rather than just serving themselves (service to others is a service to yourself), Mandalorians should seek to fight for and help family, Sith should seek to build there own empires, etc. At the same time if it's your path, it's your path. This is my path. As a Jedi I will do my best to make sure people know that I'm here to help as a Jedi; as a Mandalorian I fight for family, and believe in the unity of a society to fight for each other.
But what am I doing here? I like to learn, first off, and I'm interested in the development of the Je'daii path. It has as much if not more potential as the Jedi path, and it is a newborn like the Mandalorian, so I feel a lot of kindred air here. In addition to advancement here I am eager to offer my experience here as well.
May the Force be with you
