Codes are just words.
In fact, all paths be it spiritual or etc are meant to be personal. While a Code or Creed may speak to you in one way or another, it is never meant to truly 'define' you and is just sitting there, waiting to be dissected and Challenged.
So, what Codes do you live by and/or follow? For what reasons do you think these words speak to you? How do you honor these codes and creeds and try and live by them every day?
Just some food for thought

In this period, I'd say that I live by a mix of Codes, Jedi, Jed'aii, mine- I think indeed Codes and Creeds are a set of words to guide people toward a direction, but in order to fully adhere to those, one needs to make them his/her and in doing this, very often, he/she will create a personal Code which transcends all the Codes and Creeds- transcend but of course not betray- I could say also refine to fit the nature and situation of the person. Of course, in this there should not be an over tolerance, not something that completely changes the Codes, simply that makes them flexible to fit the evolution of the person.

A very good response indeed. In fact, I was just discussing codes and creeds the other day. The code that speaks most to me (in this moment) is still the Sith Code. It is something I have always followed the most strictly and fully because of my dedication to the Dark Side as a Lord. These words, through chants and meditations have helped me to use my emotions (whether happiness or anger) and channel it as to be productive rather than destructive. Still, I was talking about this with someone else, and even though the Code is supposed to be in and of itself Dark...I find that depending on who is reading it, the Code itself could easily sit on either side of the spectrum. Again, rather than use the energies from this mantra for destruction and conquer, I use it towards being productive...helping myself and possibly helping others if I am feeling oddly cheery that day which makes it more of a Light-Aspect thing.
So yes...I agree that Codes and Creeds are the stepping stones for personal and spiritual growth. They are merely there to guide you until you take your first steps onto the barely traveled path of Life because you have finally decided to make your own definitions of the things you do and see. Haha.
thank you for getting my brain working this evening.
